* Red Pepper is primarily a digital brand. The CMYK and Pantone colors are not exact matches and should be calibrated by print professionals to match how the color appears online. Be sure to request a print test before relying on the CMYK or Pantone colors. If a better match is found, these color codes can be updated.

Logo Spacing and Sizing

Please ensure the logo has adequate whitespace around it to preserve the presence of the brand.
A quick way to eyeball adequate whitespace around the logo is to imagine a buffer zone the height of the "Red Pepper Software text surrounding the design on all sides. Leave at least this amount of whitespace. Even more is generally better.
Also ensure that the logo is displayed at a legible size. The minimum size of the full logo is 1 inch tall in print or 70 pixels tall when digital.
Logo Usage Guidelines

Correct:  Display the logo in a size larger than the minimum size, in the correct brand red, with adequate margin, and on a white background.
Correct:  Display the reversed, all-white logo larger than the minimum size, with adequate margin on red background.

Correct:  Display the logo with both the pepper and the text with adequate margin on a white background.
Correct:  Alternately, display the pepper and text logo reversed on a Red Pepper red background.

Incorrect:  There is no approved black version of the logo.
Incorrect:  Do not reverse the logo onto a different color.

Incorrect:  Do not change the color of the logo. Use the approved brand colors only.
Incorrect:  Do not display "Red Pepper Software" in a different font.

Incorrect:  Do not apply Photoshop effects to the logo (like this drop shadow). This lessons the impact of the logo.
Incorrect:  This rule applies when the logo is reversed as well. Do not apply Photoshop effects like this glow to the logo.

Incorrect:  Do not warp the shape of the logo using filters or effects.
Incorrect:  Do not reverse the logo on top of a complex or colorful photo or background texture. It makes the logo difficult to read.

Incorrect:  Be extra careful not to warp the overall shape of the logo. Always maintain its original aspect ratio. Here the logo has been stretched vertically.
Incorrect:  Do not crowd the logo. Maintain the correct amount of whitespace around the logo as outlined in the Logo Spacing and Sizing section above.

Photography Guidelines:

When selecting photos for marketing purposes, please keep the following guidelines in mind:

Taking or finding good photos is not easy. It requires looking through a lot of photos to find a good one, but a good photo is worth it. Keep searching and be picky — these images will either reinforce the brand image, or dilute it.

Because Red Pepper's code itself does not make a good photo subject, brand photos should provide a glimpse of Red Pepper's office, culture, and people. They should be candid shots of Red Pepper employees engaged in working, presenting, and meeting with clients. Guidelines for these brand photos are as follows:

•  Keep the photos candid. The subjects of the photo should not look overly posed.
•  Ensure there is adequate lighting. Use natural light whenever possible and avoid using strong flashes.
•  Take the photo that best tells the story of the meeting, event, or activity in a single image.
•  Take the best photos you can — better photos will make Red Pepper feel more trustworthy and competent.
